Structures and capacities for consultation and coordination in the sector strengthened

ASDSP II is operating under a devolved system of government. The Agriculture sector recognized this and developed a consultation and cooperation mechanism to promote good working relationship between the two levels. However, the Agriculture sector is still faced with weak and inadequate structures and capacities for consultation, cooperation and coordination. This is one of the key problems that the programme is striving to address in order to contribute to the realization of commercialization of priority value chains. ASDSP II therefore aims at strengthening structures and capacities for consultation, cooperation and coordination in the Sector through the following:

• Initiatives for establishment of the structures for consultation and coordination supported
• Enhancing capacities of established structures for consultation, cooperation and coordination
• Enhancing participation of stakeholders in consultation and coordination structures
• Facilitation of preparation of sector policies, strategies and regulations for launch and roll out
