Value Chain opportunities are identified through a participatory process in which representatives from value chain nodes (input suppliers, producers, traders, transporters and processors) as well as service providers and regulators are engaged to come up with challenges, opportunities and interventions at value chain node.
Key steps are as follows
- VC mapping (identification of product flow from final consumer to input supplier, identification of actors and support services)
- VC analysis comprising identification of and prioritization of challenges and high impact opportunities and innovations to address the challenges
- Identification of service providers at each node to support implementation of the opportunities and innovations.
The findings from this process are summarized and captured in the Strategic Integrated Value Chain Action Plan (SIVCAP) Report for each PVC
