Commercial Enterprises for Sustainable Incomes and Food Security Locally and Nationally

The Agricultural Sector Development Support Programme (ASDSP II) strengthens entrepreneurial skills of the priority value chain actors and the service providers to stimulate commercial enterprise creation. In particular, it aims to develop value chain actors and service providers in the 29 priority agricultural value chains through entrepreneurial skills development and relevant technical skills enhancement.

Commercial Agricultural Value Chain Enterprises are one of the most important sources of sustainable incomes and food security.  To boost sustainable incomes and food security, the programme focuses on the growth in commercial Micro – Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) through value chain actors and service providers’ entrepreneurial skills development.

The programme also supports the development and use of entrepreneurial skills enhancement Strategy and manuals such as Start your Value Chain Enterprise trainers manual, My business plan, Buying for your Enterprise, Costing for your value chain enterprise, Record keeping and sustainability to help value chain actors and service providers achieve sustainable income and food security.

Active programe entrepreneurship strategy enhances value chain actors to start-up, grow and establish their enterprises to economic scales that can foster and sustains market access for profitability and financial viability. It strengthens entrepreneurial skills analysis and assessment, development of a directory of assistance to be provided to the target group and entrepreneurial intensive capacity development.
