Service providers(SPs) are individuals or organizations that deliver critical services to actors along the value chain. They may be public-sector organizations (National or County governments, public research institutions) or, private sector organizations (companies, farmers’ organizations etc).
Service providers in the agricultural sector need to be continually equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge and competencies in order to be more effective and efficient in service delivery. This is necessitated by the dynamic nature of Agriculture which is characterized by new or improved technologies, innovations and products as well as emerging impacts of external factors such as climate change.
